We had one more spectacular sunset last night. The gold of the sunsets is incredible.
And there were, of course, more birds. Cape Petrels, which I like very much and I had a little more success in capturing photos this evening of them.
And then we picked up a couple of Light-mantled Albatrosses.
Today, we rounded Cape Horn and are headed back into the Beagle Channel as we head for Ushuaia.

From the first iceberg to the final views of Antarctica, it’s been an amazing journey to this part of the world.
Every leg has had its own special treasures - from the 100° weather in Cozumel, to the 25° ice days in Antarctica; from the brightly colored cities of South America, to the bleak black and white and blue of the polar regions; from the Albatrosses to the Penguins.
What a grand journey! The Viking Polaris has been the perfect ship for this journey – I’ve enjoyed being so thoroughly spoiled by an amazing crew aboard this wonderful ship – I would strongly recommend them to anyone interested in luxury travel.
I’ll be home soon, and already have multiple trips planned for 2024 – the first is a cruise to the Caribbean with my sister, Vicki – we leave on March 1st – and I’ll be posting each day. I hope you come along for that journey too!

I just don't want your journey to end! Thank you so much for taking me along :)
I’ve been telling my son all about your journey and I think he and I are going to go next year. If you’re ready to go again, would love to go at the same time. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks so much for all your sharing and pictures, Sheri. It helped me feel like I was continuing on the trip. It has helped prepare me for my own trip in February! Blessings to you! It was nice traveling with you and being part of the Viking 8!!
Thank you again for sharing your Antarctic experience with me. Your photos were extraordinary. The small Viking expedition. Ships are amazing. We look forward to more adventures on them. I hope our paths will cross again someday happy Thanksgiving, and God bless.
